The suspect has been identified as Rasto Kalenzi, shop attendant and resident of Namengo village in Lugazi. He also runs a Tiktok account with over 6000 followers.
Hellen Butoto, the Ssezibwa regional police spokeswoman told this reporter that Kalenzi was apprehended today, Tuesday June 20, and he awaits arraignment in courts of law.
“We got him at around midday today and we are holding him at CPS Lugazi. Investigations are still ongoing,” she said.
In a Tiktok video, Kalanzi claimed he was among the ADF terrorists that attacked Lhubiriha secondary school in Mpondwe, Kasese district.
“We killed 70 people even though you are announcing the wrong numbers,” he said.
