In a rebuttal, Mafabi has counter accused Ssemujju of silently working for the state. He said Ssemujju and his colleagues had played a big part in keeping the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in power because of their selfishness.
Mafabi has also accused Ssemujju and his colleagues of being tribalists.
Nandala and Oboi are also accused of neglecting to carry out important party decisions that were approved by the members of the National Executive Council (NEC).
Ssemujju said that they have a responsibility to ensure that every party member returns, noting that many of them are stranded in their current location.
He pointed out that political parties can revitalise themselves through internal elections. He added that internal elections are being badly handled out of selfishness.
“The battle to prevent Museveni from establishing himself as President for life in 2003–2004 was crucial in the development of the FDC. Museveni’s family has taken over our country. We are currently being robbed in plain sight. They pose a greater threat than those who target mobile money machines,” he said.
