Faded Struggling Artist Clever J Admits To Practicing Witchcraft To Release Hit Songs, And It Backfired!

Performing and recording artist Clever J, born Gerald Muwonge, has confessed how he came to record and release some of his all-time great hits in his music career.

While appearing on Sanyuka TV’s UnCut show, Clever J openly disclosed how he visited traditional shrines seeking blessings and favor to release a hit song that could earn him fame and recognition in Uganda’s showbiz industry.

Fortunately, he managed to land favor and on a quick bounce he dropped a groundbreaking hit dubbed “Manzi W’anani” that rocked the airwaves for a while.

To date, when Manzi W’anani is played on any media platform, you feel the vibe that it was actually a very big jam as its beats and sounds remind us of his glory days.

At that time, he churned out several other good songs including, Ensi Yaleeta, Fanya Kaazi, SumululaMonica, and Sweet Maama among many others.

While still on the journey of his stardom, he somehow failed to meet the demands and requirements of the witch doctor who was handling his fame and favor.

He elaborated that he was asked to offer two bulls so that his brand could stay afloat but he declined to offer the sacrifice saying he had no money and that he was also choking on rent arrears for the house he was staying in.

Eventually, he slowly started dropping off the charts and critics put up ridiculous stories accusing his cousin, Jose Chameleone of plotting his downfall since their voices sounded alike.

Apparently, Clever J is seeking a comeback into the limelight as he recorded a song with trending artist Alien Skin.

He is also pushing activations for his forthcoming concert that is dubbed “The Return of Clever J” which will be going down next month (August) at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
