Disgusted Makerere Student Drags Fellow Male Student To Police For Sending Him Sexual Messages!

The case is being investigated by Mbalala Police in Mukono district, according to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman.

Mr Kalungi told police that he shared his contact with the suspect, whom he found at one of his other friends’ hostel near Makerere University.

It turned out however, that the suspect had developed interest in Kalungi and started sending him back to back love messages.

Some of the messages, Kalungi says, were graphic in nature as they contained pictures of gay people.

Although he rebuked the suspect and told him to stop, he says the messages kept coming, along with promises to give him lots of money.

According to the Police mouthpiece, Kalungi submitted to the police detectives all the love messages sent to him via Whatsapp by the suspect.

We are yet to summon the suspect to record his statement. We are going to submit the messages and the suspect’s phone to our ICT experts for analysis,” Onyango told Daily Monitor newspaper in an interview, on Saturday, July 29.

Makerere University also commented on the matter through Mr Euzobia Mugisha, the head of Gender Mainstreaming, who said he received a verbal complaint from Kalungi.

Mugisha also revealed that there had been complaints about another gay lecturer who was hitting on male students.

Following the signing of the Anti-Homosexuality Act in May this year, there has been a slight increase in reporting and investigation of cases to do with homosexuality acts.
