Spice Diana has cleared the air surrounding her relationship with fellow artist Sheebah Karungi saying fans distorted their interactions to create negative competition between them.
She was reluctant to address the issue calling it a part of the toxic culture in the music industry. Diana added that she knew the truth and chose to keep quiet.
Spice Diana was appearing on NRG radio’s morning show with Crysto Panda when revealed that her conflict with Karungi was an illusion created by toxic fans but behind it she and Karungi were fine.
Diana added that she made no attempts to cool the drama because, in the end, the two artists remained professional. She added that their professionalism was exploited and painted as coldness and quiet disdain.
“I never want to talk about these negative things, but I guess the time comes and you have to speak up. Well, this tension has been around for a while. When people see an upcoming, they start to create unhealthy competition saying the old artists are going to be overthrown. I accepted it because it is the culture and there’s nothing I can do about it.”
According to the “Bwerere” singer, the drama originated from Karungi’s fans, Sheebaholics, who pitied Diana against accusing her of wanting to overthrow Karungi from her position in the music industry.
“I knew in my heart that I had no issues with her. She has never hurt me or said anything bad about me. But yeah, her so-called fans had issues with me because I could see it in the comments, the negative remarks, saying ‘you’re copying,” she added.
“I was okay because I knew the queen had no issues with me. Yes, the time comes and you stop vibing with someone. It is not a must that you have to be friends with everyone in this business. Everyone has their friends and where to find them. Then you respect your colleagues as fellow artists and maintain that air of professionalism.”
