By Website Writer; Top Born-Again faith pastors; Tom Mugerwa, Robert Kayanja, Apostle Grace Lubega, and Joseph Sserwanda and many others attended the consecration of General Overseer of the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches (NFBPC) in Uganda yesterday.
The glorious ceremony that was held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds – Kampala saw H.E YK Museveni as the guest of honor in company of wife Mama Janet Kataha Museveni.
Uganda’s new General Overseer of the National Fellowship of Born Again-Pentecostal Churches, Bishop Moses Odongo, took an oath of power and received blessings from church leaders on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
President Museveni gifted the newly elected General Overseer of NFBPC Bishop Moses Odongo with a new Land Cruiser car after his concentration.
In his speech, the head-of-state said he is proud to have daughter Patience Rwabogo who is also among the later group of Born Agains as a priest in his home.
“My daughter is one of your group (Born Again). So finally, I have a priest in my home,” President Museveni said.
President Museveni commended the Born Agains for their discipline of tapping in work, which is one of Jesus Christ’s four dimensions.
“It’s good for you the “Balokole”, with your discipline to get involved in the four dimensions of Jesus, including work, you can do miracles,” he added.
He also condemned the theory of Born Agains not working as they hope in miracle wealth.
“I didn’t agree with that line of “You Shouldn’t Work”, we shall get miracle wealth. That God brought Manna in the desert, but God can’t be bringing Manna every day.”
He further praised them for fighting the false belief of refusing work, which was common among the Born-Again movement of the 1960s.
“I am glad that you seem to be correcting the mistakes that I saw with the Balokole movement and other religious people in the 1960s. At that time they were saying, look at the birds of the air. They neither sow nor harvest but God feeds them. I said but you people, you are not birds of the air.”
