In a heartfelt revelation, the family of renowned singer Bruno K has shared insights into his unconventional decision to entrust the care of his daughter, Briella Namuli Kiggundu, to his friend Faridah Nakazibwe.
At the tender age of four, Briella has spent nearly two years under the guardianship of the former NTV news anchor, following the passing of her mother, Racheal Nasasira, in 2021.
During Racheal’s illness, Bruno had already taken on the responsibility of caring for Briella. However, after her tragic demise, Bruno’s family reportedly offered to assume custody of the child, a proposal he declined.
According to Bruno’s sister, Brenda Nakanjako, he was remorseful about his past treatment of the late Racheal and was determined to make amends by being actively involved in Briella’s life.
Despite Brenda’s plea to take care of the toddler, Bruno insisted on personally raising his daughter. Brenda recalls expressing her willingness to care for Briella, citing the presence of her own twins who were only a few months older. Bruno, however, remained resolute in his decision.
To Brenda’s surprise, Briella was later discovered to be living with Faridah Nakazibwe. Questioning Bruno’s choice, Brenda sought an explanation for why he entrusted his daughter to a relative stranger.
Bruno justified his decision, explaining that Faridah was a more convenient option due to her proximity, allowing him easy access to Briella whenever needed.
The connection between Bruno and Faridah had blossomed into a strong friendship after she interviewed him on her morning show.
Despite rumors circulating about their relationship, Bruno clarified that Faridah’s home became a safe haven for Briella when he had to be away for work. Bruno’s teenage daughters, in particular, formed a close bond with Briella during these visits.
In a recent birthday message, Bruno expressed admiration for Faridah, hailing her as “the best Mum and our role model.” The unconventional arrangement reflects Bruno’s commitment to being an active and present father in Briella’s life, prioritizing the bond they share over traditional family structures.
