Prominent Music Promoter Balaam Barugahare, who called Mayinja to perform at the NRM function last weekend advised the ‘Tuli ku bunkenke’ hitmaker to shun the opposition and join NRM because everyone in the opposition is working for their own stomach.
“I kindly ask my friend Mayinja to stop attacking the government and the President in his songs if he really wants to live a happy wealthy life just like his friends. I’m saying this because there is no opposition in Uganda, every opposition figure you see is after filling his/her stomach.”
Other Golden Band members defend Mayinja for per at NRM Function:
Mayinja’s long term allies in Golden Band music group, Catherine Kusasira and Mesach Semakula defended their colleague saying that his performance at an NRM party shouldn’t be a major talking point.
Mesach said that Mayinja came to a function to sing for a friend (Nankabirwa) who had invited him and not NRM. Semakula also added that Mayinja has a right to perform at any event especially when he is looking for money to earn a living and feed his Family.
