Crime preventers arrested for allegedly kidnapping a South Sudanese national

Kikoni crime preventers arrested for allegedly kidnapping a South Sudanese national. Police on 26th April 2018 received a report about the kidnap of a 17 year old James Apal.

The team at Ntinda Police Station sent out communication while monitoring the calls of the victim who was with the kidnappers calling the family members negotiating a ransom of four million Ugandan shillings .

On ascertaining the point of the ransom delivery, police surrounded Cynibel Supermarket Naalya and arrested the kidnappers, also saving the victim.

Police also impounded the vehicle UAH 031E that was used by the kidnappers and has since detained them at Ntinda Police station case vide SD13/26/04/2018.

The trio, said to be crime preventers and residents of Kikoni Parish are David Niwamanya, Ashiraf Sebuffu, Godwin Muhoozi and James Mubiru.
