There was panic today morning along Kampala Road when Uganda Police Bomb squad was called into action to detonate two Russian made grenades which were found planted in the roof of one of the buildings.
The bomb was discovered by one of the builders who had come to repair the roof of Apex building on block 64 and 66 next to Fido Dido.
Balunji William, the builder, who discovered the grenades with his team told the Grapevine that, “we were trying to put a new roof on the building when my co-workers saw these stick grenades which are Russia made inside the top of the roof, they tried to play with their triggers because they didn’t know what it was. I quickly stopped them and we alerted police who rushed here and sealed off the area.
Balungi told this website that when police bomb squad went on top of the building, they removed the two grenades and rushed them off the scene without saying a word.
