Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has rallied a team of fellow Musicians, Actors and comedians who want to be MPs come 2021. Among them include Hilary Kiyaga alias Dr Hilderman , Geoffrey Lutaaya, Patrico Mujuuka, Ronald Mayinja among others.
Bobi wine, who is also the pioneer of this initiative says that they are going to support each other by traversing the country to see themselves in parliament come 2021. “We are the youths and we are the leaders of today and this is our time, youths make a big percentage of the population of this country of up to around 80%.
This means we can make it through our selves, very many people believe in us and our message is genuinely taken, we have the command and we have the youths,” Bobi wine said.
Bobi wine escorted Dr. Hilderman who announced his interest in standing as the member of parliament for Mawokota constituency where he is likely to face former Buyende district DPC Mohammed Kirumira and Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Amelia Kyambadde who is the current MP of this constituency.
Other musicians who have declared their interest to stand in the coming elections include Ronald Mayinja who wants the Gomba East MP seat and is likely to compete with Bukedde TV journalist Mary Flavia Namulindwa, De Nu Eagles boss Geoffrey Lutaaya who has already declared his interest in Kakuuto constituency in Rakai district and ‘Akandolindoli’ comedian Patricko Mujuuka has already declared that he wants to represent the people of Nakifuma constituency.
While launching their bids, the artistes have assured the Grapevine that their journey to parliament has started today. They further told this website that they are determined to give each other a helping hand until the right time comes because they want to lead Ugandans to the promised land. Currently, the 10th parliament has musicians Bobi Wine, Judith Babirye and comedian Kato Lubwama.
