CHAN will be hosted in Algeria next year and Uganda Cranes would have been making their sixth successive appearance having featured at the 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 editions.

According to Magogo, funds for the tournament has been appropriated by the Parliament but the finance ministry has not availed the same to them.

“It is sad. Like for the U23, we are left with no further option but to withdraw the Uganda Cranes from CHAN finals because Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has not provided the funds as appropriated by Parliament”, Magogo revealed.
