Zari Hassan has shared her childhood dreams of walking down the aisle with a wealthy man adorned in Satin gold and living a life of luxury.
However, in a recent interview with BBC Swahili, she revealed a significant shift in perspective as she matured, recognizing the importance of personal effort in achieving the life she truly desires.
Reflecting on her past aspirations, Zari expressed, “I used to think I would marry a rich man, wear gold, but I realized it’s not easy.
When I understood that I wanted a good life, I found the motivation to acknowledge that I don’t come from a wealthy background, but it’s my responsibility.”
She emphasized, “I set my sights on a good life, and that has been my driving force.”
Currently married to Ugandan man Shakib Cham, Zari addressed criticisms regarding the age difference between her and her husband.
Asserting her stance, she clarified that Shakib Cham is a mature individual, not a child. Zari confirmed her birth date as September 23, 1980, and highlighted that her husband is “30 plus.”
Despite his youthful appearance, she stressed that he is not young, and she will be turning 42 this year. Zari shed light on the misconception people may have due to her youthful appearance and having older children.
