BAMBI MUWALA WA PRESIDENT BAMUNYA OMUTIMA NANOBA EWA BAWE GOEFFREY KAMUNTU

In an unexpected turn of events, Diana Kyaremera, daughter of President Museveni, has confirmed the dissolution of her nearly 18-year marriage to businessman Geoffrey Kamuntu.

Despite her initial efforts to shield her private life from public scrutiny, Kyaremera felt compelled to address the dissolution, particularly for the sake of her children.

“While I’ve endeavored to maintain privacy, the circumstances have led me to clarify the situation publicly,” Kyaremera shared in a statement.

Accompanying her announcement was the presentation of the “Decree Nisi,” formalizing the legal termination of her marriage, a process initiated in 2022.

Acknowledging the emotional weight of divorce, especially with children involved, Kyaremera emphasized the challenges her family faced during this period.

“As you all know, divorce is a very difficult thing, especially when there are children involved,” she expressed, highlighting the complexities of navigating such transitions.

Seeking support from the public, Kyaremera appealed for understanding and prayers as her family embarked on this new chapter, urging respect for their privacy.

“I ask that the public continues to pray for my family as we move forward from this difficult time and that you will respect our privacy,” she emphasized.

In 2022, Diana initiated formal proceedings to revert to her maiden name, “Museveni Kyaremera,” signaling a personal choice amidst the changing landscape of her life.

Diana, known for her role as managing director of Museveni family enterprises, oversees various private ventures. Her marriage to Kamuntu, which commenced on July 24, 2004, blessed them with three children – two boys and a girl.

Reflecting on their past, Diana reminisced about their initial encounter at her sister Natasha Karugire’s home, where Kamuntu’s charismatic presence captured her attention.

Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Diana has explored acting, notably portraying the First Lady in the Ugandan film “27 Guns,” a project directed by her sister, Natasha Karugire.

In contrast, Kamuntu’s entrepreneurial endeavors include owning a procurement firm specializing in consultancy services for oil exploration companies in the Albertine region, with alleged interests in the Heritage Oil Company.

As Diana Kyaremera embarks on a journey of personal transition, her resilience and grace amidst change serve as a testament to the strength of the human spirit.
