Finally Rema Breaks Silence On her new dong ‘Sili Muyembe’ Song

Singer Rema Namakula has cleared the air on the link between her freshly released song titled ‘Sili Muyembe’ and her relationship with musician-boyfriend Eddy Kenzo. Fans had interpreted the ‘Sili Muyembe’ title, loosely translated as ‘I am not a mango’, to mean that she was telling off Eddy Kenzo over cheating allegations.

It all started after blogger Ritah Kaggwa claimed that one Cynthia had told her Eddy Kenzo had a Boston-based girlfriend named Salma. Kaggwa and Cynthia even claimed Salma was three months pregnant for Eddy Kenzo.

The ‘Sili Muyembe’ song came during the time of the gross allegations. In the song, Rema tells a ‘mystery’ man that if he ignores her, others will take her – pluck her off his hands like a ripe mango.

She adds that she had many men proposing to her but she had ignored them because she loved her man, but warns that being ignored could lead her into temptation.

In the same song, Rema even hints on allegations of the man’s cheating. But Rema has told Spark TV that the song was not about her.

“It is good if people are relating the song to me because there are people out there who are going through what I sang about,” said Rema.

“I have no control over how my songs are interpreted. I am not responsible for what people think or understand about any song I sing.”
