Prominent Kampala city tycoon Suleiman Kabangala Mbuga alias SK Mbuga’s hopes of survival narrow after being repatriated to Denmark prison.
Mbuga has been in Al Awiir Central Prison, Dubai close to a year now after being found guilty of over Shs.32Billion fraud together with his wife, Vivian Birungi, from her then Swedish boyfriend Sten Heinso.
Uganda’s Ambassador to Denmark, Zake Kibedi confirmed the rumors that Mr. Mbuga was flown to Denmark on Thursday last week rather than Sweden where he is wanted for fleecing over Shs.32Billion.
Apparently, Mbuga’s release from the Dubai prison was brought into effect after the socialite paid off over Shs1.6b, part of the money belonging to two businessmen, one from Dubai and another from Oman.
However, Mbuga’s jail exit remains unclear as it’s now a playing ball in the hands of both Denmark and Sweden governments.
