By Wycliff G; Ugandan band and cultural music singer Irene Namatovu landed safely in Nigeria for the 6th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2019.
In an entourage of close Ugandan friends; Video director Nolton George and actress Evelyne Namulondo, Namatovu now feeds in the Oga-lands ahead of the prestigious African music awards that will be going down this weekend in Nigeria’s capital, Lagos and it’s a highly anticipated historical gathering of all top African music icons.
Irene Namatovu’s ‘Tweyanze’ song will be going head-to-head with other top African tracks this year in the categories; Best Female Artiste in Eastern Africa, Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Traditional, Best African Dance or Choreography, to be crowned King of the Eastern Music sphere come November 23, 2019, at the main awards ceremony in the 6th edition.
However, in the Best Female Artiste in Eastern Africa category Irene will be battling with fellow Ugandan singer Sheebah Karungi.

Other successful Ugandan artistes featuring on the 2019 nomination list are; B2C Kampala Boys (Best African Duo, Group or Band), Afrie (Best Female Artiste, Duo or Group in African Inspirational Music), Double S (Best African Rapper/Lyricist).
All road leads to Lagos State, Nigeria as music lovers, cultural enthusiast and African stars in Africa and Diaspora gear up towards the upcoming 6th edition of the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, the continent’s biggest music event with the theme ‘Feel Africa’ is set to hold from November 20 to November 23, 2019.
The awards show will feature four days of a thrilling and innovative program of activities set to cater to a wide range of audiences from entertainment to music business to tourism and destination marketing.
The 2019 AFRIMA Program is; Thursday, 21st Nov – AFRIMA Music Village (Agege Stadium), Friday, 22nd Nov – AFRIMA Music Business Summit (Eko Hotel), Saturday, 23rd Nov – AFRIMA Awarding Ceremony (Eko Hotel, NG).
