By Wycliff G; Legendary Ugandan Hip-hop icon, Earnest Nsimbi Zamba aka GNL Zamba is back in the motherland years after he shifted residence to the United States of America to take on the film acting career.
The ‘Koyi Koyi’ hitmaker together with wed-wife Miriam Tamar Nsimbi arrived in Uganda late last week and continue to make puffery in Uganda for the new music album ‘Nsimbi’.
“Loving Ug so much, I have been driving through the city and the neighborhood getting love from everyone!!! We missed the homeland. The avocados and bananas taste better here than in any place we have ever visited. Our country is special!!!!” he wrote on his social media.
Nsimbi is a 13-track album comprising of songs such as; Leo Ni Leo, Dunia Ni Matembezi, Mujje, Omugga, Forsaken, Koona, Acholi Boy, Gonna Be Alright, Flower of the Heart, Kulusozi, Moonglow, Sokota, Amaka.
The music-couple early this year at Symphony Space Arts Centre in New York won the Independent Music Awards in the Best World Beat Song category for their ‘Leo Ni Leo’ song, off Nsimbi album after being nominated for Best Debut Album, Best Worldbeat Song (Leo Ni Leo), Best Spoken Word (Acholi Boy) and Best Narrative Music Video (Dunia Ni Matembezi) categories.
