By Wycliff G; Today marks the 4th and last session of the 70th Graduation ceremony at Africa’s third biggest institution of learning, Makerere University.
Special with this is session that prominent band music singer Ronald Mayinja is among the congregation whose degrees will be confirmed by the afternoon.
The ‘Bizeemu’ singer is graduating under the College of Humanities and Social Sciences with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Social Sciences.
Mayinja beats odds set by critics after his admission at Makerere University revealed him as a mature entrant and he has also rebelled through all political ruckus in the past three years to complete his degree.
This is a huge milestone successfully completed by Mayinja and we are can now confirm that he ready for the Parliamentary seat contest for Gomba East come 2021 General Elections.
Among other colleges graduating today is College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology and the School of Law.
The 70th Graduation ceremony has had a number of celebrities graduate in different fields as the 1st session had Mr. Hamzah Ssebunya (singer Rema’s husband) who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Medicine and Surgery, the 2nd session Swangz Avenue’s new singer Azawi who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.
