Bad Black’s Lawyers Demand Ugx. 550Million From Ministry of Health For COVID-19 Advert

By Wycliff G; Top City socialite Shanitah Namuyimbwa famously known by stage names, Bad black is up again head to head with the Ministry of Health and the President of Uganda after failing to pay her for the COVID-19 pandemic sensitization advert to the sex workers.

Through her lawyers, Musangala advocates and solicitors, the mother of three is eager to sue above if her demands are not met within the next two weeks.

According to the letter addressed published by the law firm, Bad Black was approached a one Mr. Kisembo Ronex Tembo of Precision Media on the 29th day of April 2020, acting as an agent of Ministry of Health asking her to record a paid advert sensitizing the public about the dangers of COVID-19 and encourage the ladies especially those resident in areas near the country borders to avoid indulging with truck drivers whom the government had found to be the most infected group with the pandemic.

She was informed that the advert would be used by the government of Uganda to sensitize the masses, and that she would be paid consequently which she convincingly agreed to and went ahead to record the said advert.

The oral agreement that made with Bad Black was that a meeting would be arranged between her and H.E YK Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda with whom she would discuss the amounts for the advert and payment, a deal which she agreed.

Apparently, the advert has since been used by the government in the fight against COVID-19 on all government social media platforms, likely on all media stations in Uganda as an advert sponsored by the Ministry of Health, with support from Precision Media, UNICEF and World Health Organization, translated in very many local languages.

On a sad note, bearing a public view, the advert has become very trendy but its planners and handlers have refuted from apprehending their agreement with Bad Black for three months now.

This has prompted Bad Black to address the Attorney General of the republic of Uganda and Precision Media Limited with an intention to sue dated 12th June, 2020 notice.

The demands raised by her solicitors are as follows;

  • Bad Black should be paid Ugx. 500Million being the said consideration of the said advert.
  • They want their client to receive Ugx. 50Million being the damages for the inconveniences and mental anguish she suffered.

All the above have to be implemented within the next fourteen days (14da from the date therein indicated for

Any failure to comply by the Ministry of health, the lawyers will proceed to file a civil suit against it in the courts of law at its own peril, detriment, and huge embarrassment.
