By Website writer; President of Uganda, H.E YK Museveni has met renowned American popstar, Aliaune Badara Akon with other African-Americans discussing investment opportunities.
It should be recalled in March 2021, Akon and his wife Rozina Negusei met President Museveni at his residential home in Rwakitura as they tabled their different investment proposals in Uganda.
Akon was also given an opportunity to identify the ideal investment land where he promised to establish his popular ‘Akon City’.
Last week, Akon and other American celebrities; actress Porsha Dyanne Williams, former NFL Players Israel Idonije, Andre Lamont Johnson, David Young, among others were reported to attend President Museveni’s 6th term inauguration ceremony.
The delegation was supposed to meet the head of state in the following days after the ceremony.
On Monday, May 17, 2021, Akon and his African-American team met President Museveni at State House Entebbe to extrapolate more investment opportunities in Uganda.
At the same encounter, President Museveni gave Akon’s wife, Ms. Rozina Negusei a Ugandan name ‘Ihangwe’.
“I met an African-American investment team mobilized by singer Aliaune Badara Akon and his wife Rozina Negusei at State House Entebbe to discuss investment opportunities in Uganda. I have also given Ms. Rozina a Ugandan name- Ihangwe,” reads a tweet from President Museveni.
