By Website Writer; Tuesday, June 1, 2021, was such a woeful day for Uganda as a country.
This follows an attempted assassination on the former Chief of Defense Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) and works and transport minister, Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala.
The menacing attack on Tuesday morning left Gen. Katumba to survive the assailants who sprayed bullets on his car, killing his daughter Brenda Wamala and driver, Haruna Kayondo instantly.
This has engraved different theories from both the public and the top hierarchy figures in the country.
One of them is National Unity Platform President, Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine.
Taking it to his social media on Tuesday evening, referred Gen. Katumba’s fateful incident to the disorder of the current government of Uganda that disregards no life.
Bobi Wine also believes this should be a clear revelation to all citizens about their insecurity in the country.
He also condoled with the family of Gen. Katumba.
Read Bobi Wine’s statement in full:
The assassination attempt on Gen. Katumba Wamala which left his daughter and driver killed in cold blood is another indication that lawlessness does not only affect common citizens but also high-ranking members of society.
NO ONE IS SAFE! This is the painful reality that all Ugandans must all open our eyes to.
My condolences to the family of Gen. Katumba and the family and we hope that he gets well soon.
