The 6th Anniversary of the African Pride Awards (APA) went down last weekend 3rd June at Waterloo Bridge, United Kingdom which featured several talents around the world as they got appreciated through awards.
Ugandans’ earlier hopes of scooping another continental award from the usual suspect ‘Eddy Kenzo’ after he had been nominated for the Male artist of the year got buried when the singer earlier announced his absence at the awarding ceremony despite him being among the top four artists that were supposed to perform at that night.
Apparently, the singer revealed how he was too ill and weak to seat on plane for all those long hours to UK. However with regret, Kenzo honored the award organizing committee and wished the best of the ceremony.
The African Pride Awards also known as the People’s Choice Awards comes together to celebrate and honour Africans who have impacted positively in the African Diaspora Community.
The award ceremony comprised of 20 outstanding awards and 6 special recognition awards. The African Pride Awards 2018 focused at giving back to the society by holding an auction during the night in aid of saving the Congo Charity. It should be noted that this was singer Eddy Kenzo’s first nomination in these awards.
