By Wycliff G; Over the weekend, it was glamour and gold as former Kampala City Council Authority Executive Director Jennifer Musisi Semakula’s daughter Esther Chanelle Musisi introduced her longtime boyfriend.
The Lavish Kukyala ceremony was held at Jennifer Musisi’s home in Kampala, attended by family and close friends.
Jennifer Musisi couldn’t hold her excitement as she shared the moments on her social media saying “We give thanks to God.”
Kukyala is a local Luganda word to mean a maiden visit that a boy pays to his girlfriend’s parents’ home as an initial step in preparing for their marriage.
This is followed by Kwanjula (Introduction ceremony) as the boy traditionally officiates his intention to marry a girl in the presence of both families on notice of dowry paying to the girl’s family.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Musisi is still feeding big from her new contract with the United Nations in the USA.
