UCC Summons Radio Simba For Broadcasting A ‘Neyimbila Byange’ Session That Insulted President Muyseveni.

Uganda Communications Commission last Tuesday 20th summoned the management of Radio Simba over matters regarding a skit in the ‘Neyimbira Byange’ entertainment radio show that was in breach of the minimum broadcasting standards.

“Neyimbira Byange” is a sing for cash and fun competition aired during week days on 97.3 Radio Simba in which people take turns to compose and sing funny lyrics that are replaced in popular songs in a microphone over pre-recorded backing tracks.

During one of the shows aired days ago parts of which have been widely shared allover the social media, one of the competitors sat in one of the late Herman Basudde’s songs to talk about President Museveni’s upcoming retirement.

Accordingly, the competitor arguably a male impersonates Museveni to assure the public how his reign as President of Uganda is almost up no wonder he is ready to resign from power and give chance to other leaders to take over the future of the country’s politics.

The skit reportedly was faulted by the country’s regulator of on-air content thereby grilling the station’s manager, a one Kabogoza Timothy Mandev and the Programs Director, JJ Semanda so as to know the exact objectives of the show.

“Another UCC Summon regarding Neyimbila byange Show!” Kabogoza Timothy Mandev revealed through his socials.

The commission has hence kick started investigations into the “Neyimbira Byange” radio Simba entertainment show to ascertain whether its not violating the minimum broadcasting standards.
