Prominent band music icon Ronald Mayinja’s exit from Golden band continues tormenting the entire country especially his fans and band music lovers.
Mayinja who has been one of the band’s directors since 2014 dropped a towel earlier on Thursday as he wrote to his colleagues about his resignation.
In his statement, Mayinja was not clear about the main reasons why he quit the band but was grateful and humbled for his former’s love and support in his entire music career.
“This is to inform the directors of Golden band that I Ronald mayinja wish to exit the band due to reasons worth not mentioning here. However, I do thank you for your commendable love and support,” Ronald wrote in part.
Mayinja also confirmed he is still an active musician and requested his fans for more support.
“To my fans, it’s my honour to thank you for your continued support and love that has made my music career a success. I do inform you that am still in Music Industry and offering you the best given your lovely support.”
However, our snoops have learnt the real reasons why ‘Tuli Kubunkenke’ singer quit the band and all are attributed to politics that had kept him off the music hook and concentration.
This had gotten him to the worst point of missing performances on shows organized by his colleagues and other important band programs.
Mayinja is also currently pursuing an adult programme at Makerere University to back-up his Political requirements as he prepares for his Gomba East constituency Member of Parliament candidature come 2021, another tight schedule that has ruined his music career.
Mayinja is the second musician to quit Golden Band after Stecia Mayanja departure in September last year.
Golden Band was formed by Mesach Semakula, Ronald Mayinja, Maureen Nantume, Stecia Mayanja, Grace Sekamatte, Catherine Kusasira, Fred Seruga and others after the split of the ‘Eagles Production’ in 2014 while Geoffrey Lutaaya and his wife Irene Namatovu formed ‘Da New Eagles’.
