Ugandans would never stop anticipating the new 11th Parliament come 2021 as unexpected faces and brains are more likely to dominate this time round especially from the entertainment industry.
Unlike the previous years, musicians, actors, actresses, and other music stakeholder now posess a huge mileage to majority of the political platforms worldwide.
Storming the 2016 Parliamentary seat campaigns, actor Kato Lubwama and gospel singer Judith Babirye’s candidature seemed a joke to everyone until they walked away with victory at the end of the elections.
As this was merely a blink of an eye, still their disguise by political experts and debaters continued not until the main man, Ghetto born and raised singer ‘Bobi Wine’ roared most in the Kyadondo East By-elections.
Since then, fellow musicians and other music stakeholders have been inspired to also have their hands and brains in service as political leaders in different areas of the country.
Back to the main story, has it ever crossed your senses and dreams that an artiste like Mukiibi Sadat famously known by stage names ‘Kalifah Aganaga’ would go a Parliament seat?
Leave alone the likes of Geoffrey Lutaaya, Bobi Wine, talent manager Kayemba Solomon, Dr. Hilderman, TV Personality Flavia Namulindwa, Ronald Mayinja, who have already confirmed their candidature in home districts but Kalifah Aganaga, one of Jamiro-Nateete?
It’s such a complicated story to a rhythm to but you will be forced to come in agreement with me that its true, the ‘Ndabirawa’ singer is heading to Parliament.
Kalifah has confirmed his Member of Parliament candidature for Rubaga South constituency come 2021.
Showing his ambition towards this seat, Kalifah handed-in an admission request to Kampala International University to study law which he was successfully placed.
He also fronted his Senior Six certificate with higher grades of 23/25 points unexpected of him from the public.
Rubaga South is currently under leadership of dramactor Hon. Kato Lubwama Paul whose future after 2021 General elections remains unclear.
We wish you all the best Kalifah Aganaga!
We shall keep you posted
