Finally Tanzanian top music icon ‘Diamond Platnumz’ met up with his father Abdul Juma (Big Lion) after a quite a long spell of deep hatred for him (father) that was sparked at his minor age.
The ‘Katika’ singer was surprised when the Big Lion bumped into Wasafi Studio where Diamond was holding an exclusive interview overturning the entire studio into jubilation.
Mr. Abdul Juma had earlier claimed to have not personally talked to his son for over 20 years and it he had found no peace with that as he needed to reconcile with him and the entire family.
However, Diamond had routinely paid a deaf response and shunned from every meeting that was organized to meet up with him accusing him to have dumped them (mother and sister) in the early years for another wife.
Diamond was also forced to visit his dad when he was hospitalized with a strange illness.
It looks like the two have now reconciled after this unplanned moment together earlier this week.
Diamond has recognized this as a great moment with his dad after so many years. He thanked Block 89 program presenters for hosting in an interview that turned out to be epic.
“What a Great Moment with My Dad, the BIG Lion….after so many Years!… Thank you so Much #BLOCK89 for Hosting me…it was an Epic interview!!!,” he wrote on his social media.
When asked on how his relationship with his father was at the moment, especially after all the stories that have been circulating on various media about them, Diamond Platinum revealed how the media had stoked the fires between him and his father.
He also said he did not know why his parents had separated but still he respected them.
The WCB CEO stated that after recent tragedies when his father was asking for help from him, his sister, Darleen had spoken to him about helping his father. He admitted he was ready to help him in case he had some opportunities.
Diamond also explained that he had already started the process of helping his father with his medical condition, something that his father was still waiting for.
On Diamond Platnumz’s father;
He acknowledged that he did wrong for his son and he was finally ready to apologize for his mistakes.
”The last time we talked is a long time ago; it is about 20 years ago. I may have wronged but all I want is for him to take me as his father.” Diamond’s father said
“In fact, I am giving out a note to this presenter, I want him to read it and then get back to me. I don’t want him to wait until I am in the grave to look for peace,” the worried dad added.
Diamond’s father thanked Wema Sepetu, Diamond’s ex-girlfriend, for the reason that she had been one of his supporters.
“I want my son to be more successful and finally to settle down with only one woman,” Diamond’s father responded when asked about his son’s success.
The two exchanged hugs in Wasafi FM. The initial hug looked awkward and forced as one would expect for two estranged people with a sophisticated past.
