By Muwanga Deo: Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine has once again scooped another award.
The artist won the DEAR Life Time Achievement Award, 2019. The event happened at the Marriott Hotel in Dallas, Texas on Saturday.
Although Robert Kyagulanyi was not at the event, he was represented by the leader of the Women in People Power, Flavia Kalule and the Co-coordinator for the United States of America, Kharim Ntambi.
Bobi wine was deeply pleased by his fans and comerades who stood by him and helped him achieve the award.” I thank all those who selected me for this award, which only encourages me to work even harder on this mission to liberate our motherland. At the same time, I dedicate this recognition to all Ugandans living abroad, who have been forced to leave their country because of political persecution or because of tough living conditions. God bless Uganda” said the artist.
Bobi wine has won numerous awards such as the Pearl of Africa Music Awards in 2017,- Best Afro Beat Artiste/Group; Best Afro Beat Single (“Kiwani”) PAM Awards 2007 Winners – Uganda, 2008 Pearl of Africa Music Awards – Best Afro Beat Artiste/Group PAM Awards 2008 Winners – Uganda, 2013 HiPipo Music Awards – Best Afro Beat Song (“Jennifer”) , 2018 (Galaxy FM Listeners Choice awards) Best Male Ugandan artiste. His Kyarenga song also won song of the year, 2018 among others.
DEAR is a prestigious international organization that recognizes Africans in the diaspora and across the world that are making an impact in their chosen field while improving the lives of others.
