By Wycliff G; Swangz Avenue singer Winfred Nakanwagi is in trouble again after being dragged to Police for assaulting her maid.
Ms. Scovia who has been working as singer Winnie Nwagi’s house helper for the last 3months has dragged Nwagi to Police for belaboring her over a water bottle and taking longer to return home when she went to the hospital.
“It was in the morning when I asked Winnie to let me go for my medication as I have often been doing. She accepted my request and also gave me some money to pay the hospital bills and I immediately left. When it came to 4 PM, I received her call and she harassed me on phone doubting my hospital attendance as she asked me to tell the doctor to take photos and send her via WhatsApp to confirm that I was really in hospital,” Scovia told Imbaraga radio.
“When I got home, I just got to know all was not well with her as she rudely responded to my greetings. Within a blink of an eye, she grabbed me and immediately showered me with punches, threw me to the ground, and landed me kicks on the head. I didn’t even hesitate to make ask for help because all the neighbors fear her too much. However, one woman from her neighborhood shouted pleading to Winnie to leave me but she spurned as she responded to her that she was teaching me a lesson,” Scovia added.
Scovia also says she has been receiving her full monthly wage of Shs. 100,000 on time and has never had any financial misunderstandings with Winnie for the whole period she has served under her roof.
However, she has faced impunity from Nwagi whenever she hosts her friends for weeks as she is forced to cook uncountable meals for them and also wash their clothes with inner pants inclusive.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire, Scovia’s case has been filed under Assault and Malicious Damage and suspect Winnie Nwagi has been summoned to record her first statement.
It should be noted that Nwagi has been recorded on a number of indiscipline actions this year and her future at Swangz Avenue record label hangs in balance especially after such an unprofessional scandal.
