Eddy Kenzo has revealed how he will not campaign for any political party, be it fellow singer-turned politician Bobi Wine or NRM of President Museveni he met with recently.
During a Press Conference at Mestil Hotel, Eddy Kenzo stated how he campaigned for Bobi WIne to become the Member Of parliament for Kyadondo East he is right now, but will not campaign for him to become a President. He also explained how he campaigned for President Museveni in 2011 and Bobi Wine in 2016 but not in 2021 for both of them.
“I campaigned for him (Bobi Wine) in Kyadondo but for president, I won’t. He must convince people he is the best. I will not campaign for any other person. I am a person who must bring together people. Mr. Kyagulanyi is my friend but I will never campaign for him again. I will support him and vote for him but won’t campaign for him. I will never jump onto any platform to convince people for him unless he has himself convinced people of what he is capable of doing”, Eddy Kenzo said.
Eddy Kenzo also stated how it was an honor for him to meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni but that will not compromise his political beliefs. However, he also said he is not ready to fight the government.
“I am not ready to fight the government. I can’t be against a person that God chose. He is the one who knows why He is in that place. I don’t think am ready to fight with the state. If you respect God, you must respect the leader and if you respect parents, respect elders. I could not resist the call because he is the leader of this country. He is a parent and his authority was given by God,” he added.
When a journalist asked him whether he would wish to attend Rema’s introduction if invited, the singer Eddy Kenzo stated that he has no problem with Rema and he would attend dressed in his best Kanzu and also take care of his daughter Aamaal as Rema is busy jubilating with Ssebunya.
“If invited to Rema Namakula’s introduction ceremony in good faith. I will go and support my life friend Namakula as I know it is a gown she has always wanted. No one knows Rema as I do, I have spent five years with her; eating and sleeping together, ” he stated.
