By Wycliff G; On Tuesday 9th September, the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) officially unveiled singers Ykee Benda and Cindy Sanyu in their new positions.
In the same ceremony held at Mestil Hotel Kampala, Ykee was sworn-in as the association President, Cindy – Vice President and immediately handed their respective tools of office.
Ykee Benda was handed the association Presidential keys by Sophie Gombya who resigned from the same position in-order to light up her Political candle.
Cindy as well replaces Ykee Benda for the vice-Presidential seat.
“Today Ykee Benda was legally sworn in as UMA president taking on from Sophie Gombya. The handover ceremony was held at mestil hotel.
Also Cindy Sanyu was sworn in as Vice president of UMA. We look forward to a good leadership with these two at the top,” UMA stated on its social media.
The association also appreciated the out-going President, Sophie Gombya for her excellent hand rendered within one-year term in office and wished her a fruitful new journey.
“We would like to also thank our outgoing president Sophie Gombya for everything she put in during her leadership and wish her the best in her new journey.”
