“I Have Decided To Resign From Vision Group, Due To Dictator Museveni’s Pressure.” Embattled Vision Group CEO Kabushenga Throws In Towel.

The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Government owned Vision Group, Robert Kabushenga has today resigned from the media company under what he has called “Early Retirement.”

According to Vision Group, Kabushenga said he would oversee a 90-day transition, as requested by the Board, before moving on. The media group announced Friday morning that Kabushenga had revealed his decision in an email.

“This is to let you know that for personal reasons I have asked the Board for an early retirement and this has been accepted, I am proud of the success we achieved and the impact we have had in society. This was possible because we worked together as a team. For me, it was an absolute honor and pleasure to have done so.”

Earlier he worked at Vision Group as the company Secretary and Legal Officer and also as Legal and Administration Officer of the Monitor Publications Ltd.

Kabushenga has been the Vision Group CEO for 13, having been appointed in 2007, and has completely changed the business model of the Government Entity creating numerous channels of income generation and employing thousands of Ugandans in the process. Vision Group which boasts of a number of TV stations, Radio stations, online news outlets, News Papers among other products.

Kabushenga holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. He is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda and East Africa Law Societies.

Before joining Vision Group, Kabushenga worked as the Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, Company Secretary and Legal Officer of this company as well as Legal and Administration Officer of the Monitor Publications Ltd.

He is a Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative-East Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Close sources reveal that President Museveni has been very unhappy about Kabushenga’s stay at vision group, saying his works were against Museveni’s long stay in power, hence he was fired but ordered to reveal it as a resignation.
