After his flashy victory against incumbent Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga and Hon. Ssemujju Nganda Ibrahim on Monday, May 24, 2021, Hon. Oulanyah took it to his social media and dropped a heartwarming message for the entire 11th Parliament.

This election was challenging As a result, expectations are high, fears & uncertainties exist; but together, we should build bridges, mend relationships, rebuild friendships & replace despair with hope. I pledge to provide leadership through this Ribbe Aye Teko Stronger together!

My role as Speaker will be to execute with outmost diligence the mandate given to me by constitution and the responsibility that comes with it to preside over the August House for the protection of the national interest & improvement of service delivery systems for our people

Hon. Oulanyah beat fellow NRM Party member, Hon. Kadaga who had represented herself on an independent ticket in the Speakership race.

The score was 310, 197, and 35 respective of Hon. Oulanyah, Kadaga and Ssemujju.
