NUP Selects Mathias Mpuuga As The New Leader Of Opposition In Parliament

National Unity Platform party has today afternoon announced the cabinet of the minority government and through the official announcement read by the party secretary-general David Lewis Rubongoya, Masaka MP who also doubles as the NUP Vice president for Buganda, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga was pronounced the Leader of opposition in the 11th parliament.

Mpuuga is to be deputised by Hon. John Baptist Nambeshe of Manjiya county who is to be the Chief whip of parliament.

Mityana municipality legislator Zaake Francis Butebi has also been named the commissioner of parliament.

Below is a List of those NUP appointed;

  • Mathias Mpuuga – Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP)
  • John Nambeshe – Opposition chief whip
  • Medard Segona – Chairperson
  • PAC Joel Ssenyonyi – Chairperson COSASE
  • Betty Nambooze – Chairperson Gov’t Assurances
  • Francis Zaake, Commissioner or Parliament
