By Website Writer; Parliament of Uganda has approved the appointment of Hon. Jessica Alupo as the Vice President of Uganda.
This was after a motion moved by designated Government Chief Whip Hon. Thomas Tayebwa.
Hon. Alupo becomes the second female Vice President in the history of Uganda after Specioza Naigaga Wandira Kazibwe who served from 1994-2003.
Hon Alupo is the Katakwi District Woman Representative.
She is a retired army officer at the rank of Major.
She is also a former Minister of Education and Sports who served from 2011-2016.
Last week, Hon. Alupo made headlines in the news after H.E YK Museveni naming her as the Vice President in his 6th term as President of Uganda.
