Gagamel Band CEO Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool has bragged about being the godfather of Uganda’s local music industry. “Bba wa Zuena” claims that he’s solely responsible for nurturing musicians Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine.
With or without doubt, Bebe is assertive of solely changing the local music industry over the years.
Surprising right? Why now? We have known the musician as one of the figures alongside Jose Chameleone and HE Bobi Wine who spearheaded the thorough changing of the local music industry.
However, in a self confession during a music show, the ‘Gyenvudde’ singer cemented the fact of being the godfather of Uganda’s music industry, having started the journey and went on to mentor the top acts that joined him to lay the strong foundation of the local industry.
From playing an important role in Chameleone’s early music career way back in the mid-90s when he invited him to Kenya where he had traveled earlier to join Ogopa deejays, the singer claims he gave life to more local talent including Bobi Wine.
