By Website Writer; Uganda and Rwanda have officially opened the Kazinga-Rwempasha border post to increase the movement of people and goods.
After a three-year closure, the Kizinga-Rwempasha border, dividing Uganda and Rwanda in Ngoma, Ntungamo, has been officially reopened.
This marks a significant step towards revitalizing cross-border commerce.
The Kizinga/Rwempasha border post, Ntungamo District located border has was launched on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 by the Director Immigration Uganda Maj. Gen. Apollo Kasiita-Gowa & Director General Immigration Rwanda ACP Lynder Nkuranga.
The duo alongside senior officials from both countries later inspected Mirama Hills/Kagitumba One Stop Border Post. Citizens of both Uganda and Rwanda can use their respective National IDs to travel across both countries.
The border operates daily from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
